VCU Medical Center

VCU Medical Center in Richmond Virginia, a 1,125 bed trauma 1 facility, was in need of an emergency water supply system to ensure continuous operations during a water outage.

The design of the filtration system had to be understandable and low maintenance so that the engineering department could start and operate the system with short notice.

OWM drilled 2 wells onsite which produced 500 gallons per minute. Since the wells produced poor quality water, OWM designed a Reverse Osmosis System with Micron Pretreatment filtration. VCU Medical Center is now ready for any water outage due to municipal water problems or natural disasters.

The system is also designed for continuous use to provide substantial and ongoing water savings.
