G. Timothy (Tim) Pate

Tim is an angel investor who focuses his investments in technology and health care companies located in North Carolina’s Research Triangle Park. He formed the company in 2013 after licensing the technology of Tempest Environmental Corporation which had been developed over several decades. Tim began his career as a Certified Public Accountant with the international firm of Ernst & Young. He later joined Affordable Care, a dental practice management company. During his 20 plus years with the company he served as Chief Executive Officer, President and a member of the Board. During his tenure, the company grew from $5 million to $200 million in revenue. In 2006, Tim led the sale of the company to American Capital, a publicly traded private equity firm.

Rodney Merritt

Rodney attended Saint Petersburg Junior College where he studied engineering technology. He started his career in the electrical industry in which he was involved in the construction of several power plants and industrial facilities. After moving to North Carolina in 1999, he began working in the ground water remediation field where he was involved in the design process of remediation equipment. He subsequently joined Hydro Services where he was employed as a Technical Applications Engineer and was involved in the design, start-up and commissioning of high purity water systems for such clients as Merck pharmaceuticals, NIEHS, US Army, Biogen, and Coca Cola.

Mark Brown

Mark is a graduate of Lehigh University where he majored in Mechanical Engineering. He resided in the endless mountains of northeastern Pennsylvania for most of his early life, before relocating to North Carolina in 2002.

Mark had been employed in the industrial automation field for many years and has been directly involved in many major projects from GTE/Sylvania, Osram, Deka, Proctor and Gamble, Toshiba, Ingersoll-Rand, and others. Mark has also been in the USP/WFI water industry with companies such as SAS, Hydro, Mayne Pharma, Braeburn Pharmaceuticals and Biogen.
